Egyptian international Mohammed Salah, the Liverpool star, was crowned the BBC's best player of the year 2018.
Salah, 26, surpassed fellow Senegalese Sadeo Mani, Juventus defender Mehdi Benatia, Atletico's Ghanaian Thomas Barty and Senegalese defender Calido Coulibaly .
Salah became the second player in the history of the award, which began in 1992, which he won for two consecutive years after Nigerian Jay Jay Okusha.
Salah was the third Egyptian player to crown the award after Mohammed Barakat and Mohammed Abu Trika in 2005 and 2008, respectively. 
Mohammed Salah, the top scorer in the English Premier League after scoring 10 goals so far, has achieved great achievements this year, led Liverpool to the Champions League final, in addition to his participation in the World Cup Russia with Egypt, after the absence of 28 years, scored two goals in two games.
