Many people have recently reported on the disruption of the global Internet network on October 11 because of an earlier report by an international organization that "a change in cryptographic keys helps protect the domain name system."
ICANN, a non-profit organization based in the United States, reported that it would conduct a change in the encryption keys on Oct. 11, the first since it was put into use in 2010.
The organization has called this change a key to Internet security, such as what Internet users do by changing passwords regularly, protecting key Internet servers.
The organization's announcement of the update has alarmed many Internet-based Internet addicts, but ICANN has confirmed that the impact of this change will be minimal and that few will face problems of converting domain names to IP addresses.
