The Attorney General at the Court of Appeal in Rabat announced that a judicial investigation had been opened to clarify the circumstances and causes of the incident which led to the deviation of the ninth railway train between the cities of Rabat and Quneitra in the region of Bouqnadal on Tuesday, about 10:30 minutes, 7 dead among the train passengers, and wounded about 125 others were injured, seven of them seriously injured including the driver of the train.
A statement issued by the Attorney General in Rabat said that he expected the Royal Gendarmerie's interests to be enjoyed by all witnesses and all persons involved in overseeing the train journey concerned and that all appropriate technical and technical investigations should be carried out in order to arrange due legal effects.
King Mohammed VI was at the forefront of solidarity with the bereaved families. He instructed the Minister of the Interior, the Minister of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water to move to the scene in order to ensure that the injured were transferred to the military hospital Mohammed V in Rabat for the necessary treatment.
A Royal Court statement said King Mohammed VI "decided to take care of the burial supplies of the victims and their condolences and expressed condolences to their families."
