India (Reuters) - The body of a 20-year-old model was found in a traveling bag in the Indian city of Mumbai, where reports of her death were reported after she refused to practice sex, police said.
Mansi Dixit was killed on her return from her hometown of Rajasthan in northern India on Sunday. A few days ago, her killer, 19-year-old Mezmal Syed, arrived in India's financial capital from his hometown, Hyderabad, in the southern state of Hyderabad, according to "Russia Today".
They are suspected to have known each other through a dating application and met for the first time the next day, Hindustan Times reports.
However, things took a sharp turn when Dixit went to the man's house where she refused to have sex with him. This was followed by a series of horrific events.
A police source, who asked not to be identified, said Mr "was furious and hit her on the head with my chair." The suspect, in a confessed confession to the police, said he was frightened after she lost, Dixit, her consciousness, and that he tried to revive her by spraying water on her.
The girl reportedly recovered consciousness, but Sayed went into a state of madness for fear of his mother's return home. He allegedly strangled her with a rope and summoned a taxi to get rid of her body, according to reports.
Police found the body thanks to the taxi driver, who was in doubt when the young man helped Sid put the bag containing the girl's body in the trunk of the car.
The driver waited to see what the young man would do, and when he saw him throw the bag away, he called the police.
Using surveillance cameras, the police tracked the man within four hours and found him in his apartment where he was trying to "get rid of evidence," according to the Times of India.
