Census Report: More Poor People In USA

homelessguy0915On Tuesday, the Census Bureau released a report on the rising poverty number in the United States -- and the numbers are not good.
According to the report, nearly one in six Americans are considered poor.

The poverty rate climbed from 14.3% to 15.1%, the highest rate since 1983. (Though, it does tie the rate in 1993). The rate from 2007 to 2010 was also the fastest rise since the early '80s. In total, there are now 46 million people in America living in poverty, which is the most since the census first began in 1959. And that number is sure to keep rising with the steady unemployment numbers.
Alright folks, you know what that means: time to start thinking up funny signs for panhandling. We call dibs on "Ninjas killed my family, need $$ for karate lessons."
