How To Make Your Article Marketing Strategy Effective

Article Marketing Strategy
Article marketing is one of the biggest debates in the search engine industry. Fully endorsed by many and frowned upon by more ethical online marketers, it is widely regarded as a contentious technique. The fact remains that it has been misused by many people, which eventually led to what was once a thoroughly white hat and effective technique to become ruthlessly black hat and the scourge of the link building community.

Things came to an abrupt halt quite recently when Google released the Panda Update, which instantly severely reduced the effective of article marketing. However, the one thing to note here is that it is only the black hat version of article marketing that was shot down. In fact, the real article marketing strategy, in all its white hat glory, is still extremely effective as long as you know how to implement it.

The Article

Your article is the foundation of your article marketing strategy, and you obviously need to write a great article that people will actually want to read. Forget about outsourcing the task to the lowest bidder as your article will very likely turn out to be horrible. I’m not saying you cannot outsource the writing process, but keep in mind that quality work always commands higher fees. As such, you will no doubt need to have a proper budget planned for the purchase of articles.
Your article should also be at least four paragraphs or 350-400 words long. Anything less will not be very effective, unless you write a truly formidable article. As with any other piece of content, make sure it’s properly formatted. Headers and images make the article much easier to read and always function best.

Submitting Your Article

The black hat version of article marketing was fairly simply. Take the one article you wrote or purchased, spin it in more than one hundred versions, and submit it to as many directories as you may find. There were also several issues with this strategy. The spun versions of the article often made no sense, and the directories were of extremely poor quality. With Google Panda now literally stripping all these directories from any positive effect in your link building strategy, this whole process becomes essentially a big waste of time.
The key to making your article marketing strategy effective is to submit an article to only one website. Forget about spinning it to save time and, more importantly, forget about all these crap directories. Instead, find a quality website that actually earns traffic and submit your article to that website. It will not only actually have a huge positive boost on your whole search engine optimization strategy, but doing so also allows you to establish relationships with webmasters from high quality websites.
I understand that many people may find this article marketing strategy quite exhaustive but it actually allows you to get both higher search engine rankings and more traffic. Moreover, it is one that will not be wiped out by subsequent search engine algorithms.
